Before anything good old frog tape on everything we dont want the paint on, while painting i decided to change the lights out and paint the ceiling freshen up. So we started with painting the walls.. I also discovered the Fan is not the best so i think im going to change that out aswell.
We needed a paint that will not only last but will take all the moisture aswell. so we went for this Turkish blue
The can lights are here, Turns out the Light hole Diamator is perfect for the new Spot lights 76mm
I thought the lights would be a easy straight swap. but i was wrong. turns out who ever installed the lights decided to use 3 core and earth and not 2 core and earth, so i had to start again from the pull cord. replacing all the cabling to the lights.
These are the lights i installed, I installed these in my last house, Very easy todo and do the job. here
I have used these down lights before and i just love there design(Code here), My Wife pointed out chrome would be better, So i picked up the chrome adaptors for them also(Code here). After a complete rewire and install i think they turned out really good. Now time to tackle the extractor Fan.

First job was to get the fan off and figure out why the fan is not staying on when the lights are turned off, Delay timer Issues.
Looks Like the Fan main live is on the Switch live Terminal after some testing, I found a right mess in the loft some months ago and installed this wago box. Glad i did now Made this part of the job easy.
So i Replaced the Fan with a Inline fan replacement for better airflow, After some research i chose the below (Link here) More Details about fan here
When install the fan in the loft i wanted it installed so it would be easy to access, Isolate and maintain if needed. so i chose to mount the fan on a Piece of board with a Fan isolation switch, nothing worse than getting up in the loft to work on the fan and forget to isolate the Fan.
When screwing the Fan down i put Rubber grommets under the screws to try and stop vibration. Get the grommets here. The fan isolator is brilliant as this isolates all 3 Lines into the Fan. Live, Nutral and Switch live. Get it here. i used a 25mm Backing box for the switch.
The ceiling adaptor is a Map Vent Adjustable Vent White 100mm x 100mm here, This was really easy to install. comes in 3 parts and 3 screws. The middle part of the adaptor is adjustable for airflow. I had to cut off the black tabs you can see in the picture to make this fit and screw to the ceiling for a firm fixing.
New one installed with the Tissue test.
I needed to use some sealnt around the bath and went with this, because it should last well with it Being Sanitary
Last job was to Seal the flooring as the tiles have moved, and alot of the grout has come out and i dont really want to replace all the tiles, i chose again Sanitary silicone because it should be hard wear on the floor. but only time will tell.
